to not resemble a worm
was a priority
on my short list of postures
not to unfold upon my ex
I got drunk on vodka and grape juice
in short order
to put myself in a place
where the disclaimers
won’t come a knockin
without a warrant
I ate some jambalaya
and washed my teeth out
with a drink

the fire door will creak
and heels will tap
on the cluttered concrete patio
she will knock
and I will do my best
to disrobe and saturate her sex
with the lust and history
we once devoured
something which she now
tries to bind to the past
but which I
enrapt in desperation
on the empty showroom of the present
whatever the results
are to be
I am satisfied
with the thirst

Wow!
"Whatever the results are to be I am satisfied with the thirst"
I like the way you've depicted the entire scene...and all your senses, even when dulled
