Somewhere... out there...

Makin' Time

Listen up, I'll tell the rest of Toerag's little tale
He tells it well, but left out just a bit of the detail
I'd hate to leave you in the dark, 'bout what went on that day
We all can learn a lesson from the games Toe likes to play

Toe's telephatic Timex watch is pretty slick indeed
But it's quite clear he's told his tale with intent to mislead
So, Toe, I hope you'll understand if I elaborate
And tell your friends the painful truth about your awful fate

You see, my friends, our Toe is smooth, but not as smooth as she
And though his lines are pretty good, they bring no guarantee
Now Toe, he thought this girl another mountain he could climb
Instead, she slapped his second hand while he was makin' time

No doubt, this 'foxy blonde' was simply more than Toe could bare
She dumped her drink into his lap and left him sitting there
Toe sat in shock and disbelief not knowing what went wrong
Was it too much to ask to simply see her in her thong?

Toe ripped the watch from 'round his wrist and threw it 'cross the bar
That piece of junk was worthless - hadn't gotten him too far
He ordered up another drink and sat there all alone
"I'll never try that line again", he mumbled with a groan

The moral of this story, friends, is quite a simple one
Just savor every moment, 'cause"time flies when you're gettin' none"

~vlraynes

I'm sure you've probably all seen the poem
that inspired this, but just in case you haven't, here's the link.

Vicky, What a superb and quickly written response to Toe's 'effort'.   I really feel that both he and Balladeer have met their match in you.   Might I respectfully suggest that the pair of them, should become a 'Threesome' with yourself as the 'Third Member'- the presence of a lady amid the thrust and parry of reparte between them would make some interesting reading.
Well Done !!!!
Seasonal Greetings.....

Brava!  When you've got a wit as quick as yours, you don't need a watch.

Sunshine!! Vicky did NOT lay a Muskateer! Nor is there any truth to the rumor, MM, that she is going to join Toe and I in a threesome! You people should all be ashamed of besmirching her in this manner!!!

Vicky, ya done REAL good here, exposing that varmit and his sly way. If there's anything Toe knows a lot about, it's about getting none....renamed his waterbed The Dead Sea, last I heard

Well done, lady

But the best "line" I've heard works like this....Ya go into a bar, sit next to your "fantasy conquest"....order yourself a drink and a glass of water. You dip the tip of your finger in the water, touch it to her sleeve, then to your own sleeve and say: "Let's go over to your house and get out of these wet clothes."

(chuckling)  this adds another dimension to the ongoing feud..and a third party observer seems to have illuminated Toe's propensity for exagerating...
