So much time is thrown away by dwelling on the past or future. The guilt you choose will not make the past different. Nor, will it make you a better person. Also, blaming someone for your unhappiness will not make your pain disappear. The past is something that can't be changed. It's over! And, worrying about your tomorrows is a waste of your precious ~time today~. Taking charge of your present moments and turning your now into fulfilling experiences is the reality of wholesome living. ~There is only one moment~ and that is ~NOW~! ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Thanks to all who replied. This is a wonderful way to live...at least a goal.... I don't think anyone could do it all the time, but, given my history I do try. And, I am not terminally unique in more lessons in life than anyone.... but, have had many, from my own cancer when my son was newborn and husband was off the deep end, somewhere(?), to my children gravely harmed, to too many to list... If I can remember I am NOT God, but, that He is there and in control of everything, I find it easier to let go, and let Him.... Hard to do, especially when our loved ones are suffering.... or, when faced with difficult living situations, which I personally am. So I choose the above way of living as much as possible. Amazingly, when we look for it, there is so much goodness in life to behold and to experience, sometimes just a smile back from someone you helped in some minute way, that didn't seem important to you, but, made their day. I believe it is the "present moments" that effect not only our own souls, but, will have a permanent effect on others.
