There are some special people
Born to walk this earth
When they come the angels know
And herald out the birth

There beside your cradle
On the day that you were born
I know the angels cried out
In singing and with horn

Heralding your coming
For all the world to see
For here was born a poet
With words to set folk free

A man of promised wonder
While yet a tiny babe
A man whose words would move the world
From cradle to the grave

Each day you grew in promise
You lived and learned a lot
And the herald of your birth
Was for a time forgot

Yet you return with manhood
The promise of your birth
You bring great joy to everyone
Reveal to them their worth

You encourage gently
No need, deride or rail
And those kept beneath you wing
Need never fear life's flail

You learned the secret lessons
Of how to rise above
And everyday you give back words
Teach others how to love

Michael it's your birthday
What else can I say?
Except to join the angel choir
And shout hip, hip hooray

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Very, very nice, I'm sure Michael appreciates it, or will when he sees it.

I'm guessing he doesn't go by Michael as his artist's name, so, would you enlighten me as to whom you proclaim?

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Sorry VAS,
it's for Balladeer whose birthday is tomorrow the 18/08. I think there's something significant in being born on the eighteenth of August eighteen oh eight, Don't you?

Wow,  that makes him 94 years old...no wonder he uses, it is he that uses Shakespeare as his icon, isn't it?

in the words of the late Victor Borge, "That's twoderful," which is one better than wonderful!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Keth beloved heart sister, I shall quietly roll my poem up and move it to one side, this is exquisite writing I love it and so I have no doubt will ‘Deer. He does have taste and certainly knows quality and this is something special. I love it utterly utterly

Have a fabulous birthday ‘Deer my dearest friend and may you have many many more.

Wow, Kethry, this is a beautiful poem but far too regal for me. There were no trumpets blaring when I was born, only a doctor screaming "This is the ugliest baby I ever delivered!!" The only thing regal about me is that I can be a royal pain at times!

VAS...that's 194 (but I'm very well-preserved for my age)

Sunshine....find my glasses??? Nah, I've always preferred to feel my way around

Thank you, Chris, for your nice comments

It really is a class poem, Kethry, and I thank you very much

That can't be true Deer, for otherwise your name would Theophilus. You know "that's The ophilus baby I've ever seen."
Have a happy birthday.

A lovely poem Keth, though Michael never seemed too "angelic" to me.
Helluva poet though.
Hugs, Michael.

What a wonderful wish you have done to a fine poet.

Keth,
Mikie likes it! Can't get better than that. Sorry I missed your birthday 'deer. Hope it was as fine as you. You are well preserved I must say. Fine job Keth, fine job.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
