With piteous eye the look befell
the forlorn gaze of consciousness.
His thoughts of her he wished to tell
but such was strong his own duress

As winds did howl on frozen plain
of hearts in beat of waiting seize
To grace the brow in warming rain
till fell the flow of chill in breeze.

Does not the mind remain once clear
and save the warmth of one’s last dream
To bring from in the sound of cheer
and flow beyond the wandering stream.

Give unto this my bounteous love
and whence one mome’ does then arise
to fly the winged wanting dove
into the clear of clouded skies.

For as the heaven clears to blue
and rays then fall in golden shine
I bequeath my life to Ye, I do...
To thee my love, dear Madeline.

ahhhh, the wharf and weft of your weave in this is a gentle rolling of the tide

enjoyed the read even if I don't know how to spell wharf and weft   maybe it's warp and weft

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

VAS...I do love your style....Gee...I don't
know either.....the wharf and weft???

But it certainly sounds OK to me....kinda
like the Yin and Yang....the too and fro..

Thanx..

Barry... I think Virginia meant the "weave and the weft"
A very beautiful poem, indeed...
Woven well...

Barry, this makes me think of one of my favorite old poems, by Longfellow ,
"Evangeline"
Very old world feel, perfectly composed.

I must say, you sure have the talent to brighten anyone's day. Well written poem that delivers with each paragraph.

Staring into the sun just makes you blind to what beauty actually exists in the sky.
