Do I Sip

Do I sip from the offered glass,
this clear champagne of life
Do I resist and let it pass,
not giving it a chance

Will its sparkle reflect the fire,
as my eyes rest on yours
Will its bubbles burst with desire,
setting my heart aflame

Can I breathe deeply of its scent,
while I melt into you
Can I now dream of what you meant,
and tell you what I feel

Do I sip this sweet drink, divine,
filling heart, soul and mind
Do I accept this offered wine,
fulfilling all my dreams

Never sip! Whether it be the titillating chalice of victory, or the hemlock of defeat; drink it all. Every drop! Cest la vie!

I say, sip baby, sip!!! What is life, if we don’t live it to the fullest, and that includes taking a chance in life, a chance on love. Life is full of risks, but those risks can sometimes bring us the greatest of joys. I love the way you have written this, so questioning, unsure, yet, it is all summed up in these lines:

Do I accept this offered wine,
fulfilling all my dreams

Any time we have a chance to fulfill our dreams, it would be a tragedy to let that moment pass.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Hey - go ahead and induldge, Startime - what's to loose - a little time (what's it there for but to use?) - a little piece of heart maybe (just look at the growth spurt it made when you induldged; the little bit of loss is not near as precious - if loss indeed happens) - some sensibility (we're all a little nuts anyway) and the gains are just tremendous (don't need to go into that do I???

Loved it -

I say go for it, Karen.  You never know what will happen.  I liked this one.  Left me thinking.

*giggling* too cute.....if I could only find a man to share the wine of life with I would be very happy....until that time I will weave my fantasies and carry him into my dreams. Thank you all so much for your encouragement. Do you think I might get a love for Christmas. **hugs to you all** I think you are all just wonderful.

Sip, and if the taste is as sweet as you anticipate, then drink up! I love the imagery in this, very well done. *SMILE*

Poets R the Ultimate Romantics.
I say, Endulge.

A Musician must make his Music,
An Artist must Paint,
A Poet must Write,
if he/she is to ultimately
be at Peace with himself.
