Bare with me on this one, it's the first new poem I have been able to write in about 9 months or so.  So she ain't much, but here it goes...

Exit Wound

Silk, satin pillow snow white
Hands that cross indicate end of fight
Laying hat within new home
Leaving behind seeds they've sown

In sorrow we gather
For lack of words we blather
For alas this is goodbye
Go ahead, it's ok to cry

Cry tears of laughter
For they will laugh hereafter
At peace within the light
After all, they've earned the right

For earth is not our home
Just the learning place we roam
For lessons we had to learn
Called on to home once we earn

The soul is a powerful tool
So don't play it for a fool
For it goes on to the beyond
And from there it can still respond

So talk aloud to love ones lost
No phone bill, there ain't no cost
They live on and truly not entombed
It is only us that suffer the exit wound

Your feelings fill the page.  Write on

My dear, this is absolutely splendid...I don't care if it took nine months, sometimes we have to experience a painful birth to behold joy....

This was well worth the wait Marina, it is so good to see that your muse has returned.  Warm smiles*

It's nice to meet you Marina. This is very good, both the theme and the writing. Food for thought, and I'm always hungry for more.

hey  girlie...it is indeed great to see your muse is waking up ....dont sell this piece short either...
your played out the theme and metaphor perfectly and that last line wrapped it all up with the poetic impact.
So kudos to you and your muse POETESS Marina

You're the hidden cost and the thing that's lost in everything I do.
In the sunlight, in the shadows ...
No ... I'll never stop looking for you.

Thank you everyone!!!

Writing is a struggle for me these days, but I got lucky with this one.  Actaully, you might say I had an "inspiration" from a mystery guest.
