The universe is hard to grasp
time and space are not like this sentence
there is no beginning, there is no end
just boundaries that do not exist
I know it may be hard to understand
the concept of things without end
But even more incomprehensible
is the limitless quality of love
The sum is greater than the parts
this is true of the universe
but love is different in one crucial point
It does have it's beginning with realization
that another can mean so much to you
But it is the same as space and time
in that it is unfettered by limits
and once truly felt, love will never fade
like a pinwheeling galaxy that has
seemed to have lost it's spark
No, it just expands with the universe
and outlasts time to exist beyond
any limits our faltering minds
may try to impose

A real man

kisses his children goodnight

Wow. Last night I wrote a very short poem about the expanding universe and expanding love:

What if?
love became a spandex bandage?
Could we expand our love,
as the universe expands,
far enough to stop blood-letting hate?

I really like the thoughts you presented.
Thank you very much for sharing them.

Sometimes I wonder at boundaries myself. I like what you have said here in this poem.    enjoyed.

Sometimes the heart needs the solace of solitude and silence.
