"To tolerate a hot-air buffoon..."

(Copyright 2001 by: MARK V SHELDON)

Abrasively yellow
Swaying back and forth
like a stoned hippie
bobbing up and down
and up and down
like the head of a pigeon
collecting hand-outs
I'm hanging by your thin string
one I want to sever
so I can free me
from your misery
I'd love to watch you
rise to the top
and pop your pretentiousness
becoming grounded once more
a shriveled relic from the
colorful time you thought you had
above us all
I dream of inhaling your "hot air"
and telling you in your own words
just so you can hear for yourself
how funny you sound
No more mylar smiles
My day is much nicer
without you in it, thank you very much.

Thanks, TLOS -- no pun was intended, of course... right?

Nice execution, no pun intended?

Truly though, I am sure there's more to the story, but I love the intensity of this. Sometimes p.o.'d poetry is full of Passion.
Enjoyed this much.

Very well penned...(as to puncture or punctuate the positive) Sometimes you just gotta say "No thanks!" Or throw darts?   Hope you don't mind this smile. Couldn't help it!

Sincerely,
Regina

Serenity:  very punny.

Thank you, Nancy -- I'm starting to enjoy it too despite my being new to it...

Sandra:     Depends on the people...

Regina, I never mind a smile from you, or anyone who is genuine.  But I never did care for those smiley balloons...

Helen -- thank you, and I'm glad my smile touched you and boomeranged back to me too.

Logan, sometimes, when we're lucky, they never have to do it again...  Thanks for the read.

Balladeer:  ...and sometimes they just run out of gas...  Thanks for the smile.

Tracey:  I hope so...  whoever they are...
