Joyously I think of you, the one who leads my way.
I could not trust, but you bid me to stay.
I stayed and learned in you I could trust,
as your feelings are far deeper than lust.
You give me gifts, and take my hand,
because of you I take a stand.
I’ll be with you forever more,
as your love inside me I store.
I have learned to love you much,
and gasp in pleasure at your touch.
Your hands so gentle and strong,
when touching me are where they belong.
Our children now are grown,
to them our love was shown.
Our grandkids now light our life,
and I am so happy to be your wife.
We’ll watch them grow, our love to show,
as on their faces we see the happy glow.
In our old age we will sit and rock,
as our love in our hearts we lock.
And whoever does die first,
will make the other’s heart want to burst.
Until realizing that the one who dies,
is still within, then with relief the one left sighs.
The love now is in the form of nature,
and many moods it will capture.
The gentle breeze that kisses the lips,
as gently within the contentment slips.
The ocean waves, forming beautiful white caps,
will fill the soul as the one left naps.
The candle that is burning bright,
will help the one to see the light.
Then when the one left does die,
together then we both shall lie.
