A Letter To Myself

My Demons soar behind my door
Spilling guile into midnights wile
Selling its morphine evermore.
Soothing my soul in sanguine style.

Caressing vows to listening ears.
Blessing my eyes in languid cool
Honing though into distant fears.
Convincing me I'm not a fool.

Revealing me smooth lakes of green
With rainbows booting in the swell
And lending me to dreamers dream
By warming hell without the smell.

But when it lifts this green of mist
All this illusion draped in sleep
Those emerald hues of non exist.
Soon dissolve in the wake of keep.

Good men rage their glory's morn
But demons hid the true of dawn.

The feel of this is like feathers stroking one's neck.  Loved that feel.

Curious, what form is this with the 4 stanzas of 4 lines then a 2 line, sort of summation?

"COOL-AID"  ... it flows thru his veins ...
Cherry me thinks..

Doreen,
Pay the fare, take the trip. On second thought your too nice to do that. Just be patient. Everything come to those that wait.

Karilea,
Thanks for the wonderful. *L*

Vas,
Janet gave a pretty good answer. Thanks for the read.

JM,
You write the coolest stuff.

I love it. You seem to be the only one that even comes close to what I try to say in some of my poems. I guess that is why I love you so much.

Well it is hard to beat JM's reply but I do agree with her.  I am thinking about tossing out my coffee and buying stock in that flavored water company with the talking pitcher.   If I were to choose a favorite verse then I would have to choose them all.  This was a wonderful piece to share and leaves much food for thought. ( I know...wash it down with "COOL-AID"

Mark,
You are a fist class poet and you don't need cool-aid. The simple fact that JM takes such pains to answer your poems means your pretty damn good. Thanks for commenting on mine.
