This was written in memory of a friend's love

If the valley of darkness,
Swooped through the night
And nothing was there,
Blackness, darkness,
Nothing but empty space around you
I would be there

If in the valley of darkness
There was an unresponsive creature
Who knew nothing of the world
Knew nothing of love
Knew nothing of caring
I would be there

If you ever needed someone’s hand to hold
Someone to give a hug to,
Even if you couldn’t see me,
I can still see you,
If you ever needed comfort
Or a little encouragement,
I would be there.

If in your world of blackness
You fell in the sea, and you were
Swallowing the seaweed
The salt water seeping into you lungs
With no where to hide your face
No oxygen to breathe,
No legs to kick you to the top
I would be there

If a gigantic monster
Was to come,
Into your world of blackness
And you couldn’t find a rock,
To protect you from this monster,
Couldn’t find a cave to hide in
I would be there

If you ever ran away,
To a cabin in the hills
And was left
Not seeing not knowing
I would be there

If you life turned from good to bad
And you felt as if no one was there
And you knew nothing of what to do
Couldn’t do anything but sit and think
I would be there

If life thrusts you into
The tunnel of hurt
And the world is swirling around your ears
Neither sun nor darkness
Seem to penetrate
I would be there

If you’re ever afraid
With the evil after you
Fighting doesn’t do any good
With your heart in your hand
And no one in sight
I would be there

If you ever alone in the world
With no friend to turn to
With nobody to relate
You feel as if the world has attacked you
I would be there

If you ever need anything
To talk
Or to listen
To cry
Or to laugh
To have a talk
Or to yell and scream
I’m here

Bessy, I missed this the first time around, it's good to look on the back pages and bring up a new poet!

A belated WELCOME to Passions!

I hope your friend appreciated the time and effort you have shown in this gentle peice of your heart.
