Another black sunrise,
Another day when the wind does moan,
Another day chasing lost dreams,
Another day all alone.

Beastly repititive reality,
A bitter soul to match the bitter winter's day,
A heinous stab at this thing called life,
Will it ever be any other way?

No bright light on this day,
No highlights to look forward to,
Seems this is the chosen path,
For there is nothing I can do.

I'm merely a derelict floating along,
No uplifting rush to fill this heart with song,
Shipwrecked on the shores of life,
Merely a wrecked hull that shows past strife.

My world a ruined city,
Decay and defeat, the evidence all round,
This downfall and failure mine alone,
The moaning wind the only sound.

Annihilation of thy former self,
Devestation's all that's left,
Termination a possible salvation,
Extinction a possible relief.

Isis, this is one of your best (in my opinion   ). Oppressive and atmospheric. Really a great read.
P.s. I hope you're ok!?

You've been reading my mind isis, or horrorscope, or something! I related to this 100%. It's funny how just seeing that someone else feels the same way helps. I found this poem VERY calming...

Strange why everyone makes the mistake of attributing the poem to the personal condition or experience of the poet!
I think this is very imaginative and reflects a train of thought not intrinsic at least to Isis - the writer - and that makes it all the more creditable.

Wonderful Isis. . .

It can get a bit mind numbing can't it?  That's why we have to stretch the mind from time to time. . . let it take us on flights of fancy. . . it helps. . .

Superb poem. . .

Magnifique! What a sad, hauntingly sad picture you paint with your words (and you do it so well!) I thoroughly enjoyed this.
