I long to throw my weapons
to the floor
to bare my soul
open and exposed
battle scarred and weary
as I kneel
head hung in defeat
the last vestiges of pride
and self respect
shattering around me
in mirror shards
scattering like small stones
across an ice-pond

I long to give up the fight
and just rest secure
in your love
instead of struggling on in
this battle I cannot
overcome
I long to toss my sword aside
blood-stained and dull
and give my heart to you

I found myself reading this one over and over again. I like it, I like it alot! Great title. My only question is: Is the armistice with their own self? or the other person? I get the feeling it is the former. Thanks for sharing.

Andrew
