How gullible they think we must be,
These Societies of Poetry
Who flatter us unmercifully,
As if the greatest poets we'd be
Who sees such talent in mediocre lines,
Just to persue their greedy designs
To lure Poet-wanna-be's to published fame,
In vanity collections which inlude their name.
All the while, appealing to our pride,
While their alterior motives, they seem to hide
Promotion of a Fine Art is not their aim,
But filling their pockets while using the mundane
Offerings prizes, conventions and such,
To make one think, he has the Poetic Touch
With shameless panderings, flattering to the extreme,
Willing to rake cash in, at the expense of a Dream.
They suggest that we're destined to be stars,
And that's how gullible, they think we all are
But sadly I admit, as a day follows the night,
With many poor fools, they're absolutely right!

seeing my brilliance this time??? ]

honestly, they probably won't even read it but I truly hope they do!! Matter of fact, I hope they send it to the Presidents of these companies.

What an outstanding write that needed to be written and needs to be read by those heartless people!

and even if they don't read it, this makes me feel better anyhow

To be published anywhere is a place to share ones thoughts of the heart and for the willing, the money from their pockets...James
