Ren Dez Vous

1970 love long ago in some
twilight lit with hope
there encompassed
three rooms with special view
triangularly quartered
and each name, with quaint whim
where occupants were to abide
by terraced landing, perhaps meet,
then surely blush, for
they would had to have met
decidedly so, with the pink aficionado of
the hotel’s keep

for everything blushed warm, then, and there.

Madonna Inn, do you still court
sporting tests of wonder and light?
Do you still jut ragged edges of
showering marvels or have you
undergone some synthetic “be careful”
for everyone who cannot use common sense…
and do you still exist
for those lost in newly wed?

Do your ceilings still sparkle in wink
as some bride grins a blink
or have you faded
by slack of who cares of formality?

Special moments of extraordinary delivery,
you were pinkly blue and uncommonly known
as a place to remember with
a ren dez vous corner

Even if we stood, as two
trying to be one, in front of three
imaginings.

Brings back memories for me as well, though
not there...another place...long ago...
when passion was warm 24/7 and lust was
