Down Turned Page

Outcomes also wither, shedding color
Once written, the heart an empty glass
At times, to wander briefly into exile
In autumn, least the hymns of night rain
Deluge into soft spoken pockets of hope
Filling back the inkwell of the pen
Such a story to be told

In my silence, I have written love
An adventure certainly of soul to give
And given it my all, I have
On linen sheet, the shower so pure
In mountain air, September sings
A crease upon the corner of a letter
Turns down with time it’s mark

And yes, I love you
Timeless yearn, that softly seeks my fingers
And so returns my heart ~ to the down turned page

Perfection..yes, very fine.

You write love and all of it's emotions
so very well.

I like the lost meandering soul of love within this, beauty with the merest hint of sadness just below the surface, enjoyed as always..thank you..

So lovely Kathleen..melancholy, much like Autumn.
This is my new favourite by you!
hugs~Nancy

Now - while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again..and again....

I am not much for love poems but I do like to see longing and though the words convey beautiful imagery sadness also exudes.  I like it.
