Life hums in the silence
and the Universe sings out
but I can’t hear a butterfly
fly from tree to tree
and pause upon the doorstep
of all there is and more.

I listen; how I listen
with head cocked to the side
for surely there are flutters
in the heart of butterflies
excited and inspired
to be a part of life.

I fluttered once inside
but in truth too many times
to not know there’s a movement
working on a clearing
so all who sigh and cry
may one day be uplifted
by a butterfly in flight.

I listen; how I listen!

Me, too, Helen....and I believe, too, that one day....one day....we will be uplifted.  Very lovely and one of my favorites, I think.  *hugs*.....jo

Thanks, Jo!  Let all who listen hear but not yet perhaps the flight of a butterfly!
