Listening to every heart

Continental Light

I watched the clock tick
into some tomorrow
when only hours ago
I read of some poet that
had made his history
writing some       thing,   supposedly,
better than the rest of you.

It was almost as good as
yours.

Free verse

then Pulitzer,

and an honor           prizes those
I do not know.

I know you.  I know the worthy.

You, who follow a light’s line
and mark step cross stand way
across boundaries others
will never know.

Polite, those who court me
when I appreciate their hope; albeit perhaps
false be
I know these, their challenges
when they say….

you’ve done better
than this!

Any poet who believes
they are….well, s/he

lives in you, my
our
their
reader.

Let me be yours, my, our continental poet.

searching for the right words
can't find them tonight
perhaps the 104F temps today
just drained my brain of anything of substance

but want you to know, I read and felt this

certainly a poem to ponder over, when so much is based on not what you know, but who you know, or who knows you.

a poet who cares

This one will stay with me, and in my moments of quiet, I will meditate on this writing.

I think of the primary reason I write when I can find the time to do so...and that reason is that I NEED to write for me.

I loved all the corners in this wandering through an excellent and very alive mind.  I have saved it in my Sunshine folder, firstly because I want it, and secondly to ponder the last 3 stanzas offline, when I can do so at my leisure.

I am here pondering your poetic considerations.

Probably in poetry, even though we might express our innermost emotions, everything has already been said, in one way or another, but whenever we succeed in "charging our creations" with our personal essence, then they are truly original and worthy.

And when we follow our inner voice and transmit something to the reader, when there is communication then we fulfill ourselves.

Thank you, dear Karilea Sunshine, for sharing your beauty with us.

Love,
Margherita
