Like the ocean, I too rise and fall
The tidal waves come and then go
The swell inside my heart magnificent
The ehcoes of your voice bouncing off as I hear you call

The pools of green and blue
They mesmirize me, as the sunlight streams down
Lost in thoughts of yesterday
I lazily dream of me and you

The seashell in my mind
Becomes rough and beaten by the sand
Searching, I can not find my way
It's as though I've become blind

The waters of my soul begin to dance
I close my eyes for a moment
Soaking up this rememberance
Then I realize I've lost the chance

Perhaps you were never mine afterall
The sands of time only know
Peering into my aching heart
I let you go

"When life gives you sorrow, may you experience the spirit of laughter"

Ahh, letting go is a very hard thing, but, sometimes very nesaccary.

Such melancholy, yet beautifully crafted.  Your images are vivid.  Thanks for sharing yourself.  Take care, Liz...Carpe Diem

I began reading listening to the ocean.
I could see the seashells and hear the seagulls.
But when I got to this last stanza, I heard a huge door slam shut,
then silence.  This one hurts the heart to read.
Very nicely expressed sentiment.
