He sits on the street corner
lost in the colours of his mind
dirty and unkempt
somebody's son.

Too many bad days
too many bad memories
they finally took his mind
and broke it on their wheel.

Who's to say what sanity is
who's to say what's right
he lives in a world of fantasy
he lives not in this world.

He doesn't ask that you help him
he only wants what he can see
there in the kaleidoscope of his dream
broken colours broken minds.

Fragments ever changing
fragmented thoughts
fragmented life
broken colours broken minds.

Powerful writing, Paula.....I've always thought this about homeless people - though, of course, you express it much more poignantly.....It's a shame that this is a fact of life, people should realize not to judge, but rather understand.

I'm saving this
