Only old soldiers
With nothing left to do
Continue their constant rendezvous

With fate that failed
To take them when
At least they felt
And hearts were young

And children play
At war and dream
Things will change
Because it’s Spring

While Autumn’s
Wiser veterans
Sigh
And drink their wine

Having recently said goodbye to a very special old soldier, I find this particularly poignant... and one to keep in my library. *S*

Dear John...

The suffering of man
befits all women
as well...

thank God all
find some peace
poetically...

Thank you.
