Listening to every heart

Radiance, Ablaze

It is November, again.

~*~

When I hid in the quiet moments
away from you, away from all…
scratching something on parchment
in blackest ink
for some future look back…

I did not then know
how it would come back to me
today, for tomorrow’s yesterday.

I think it is the first line that,
on brown-edged aged paper
caught my eye…

No date, but so old…it must have been
written in one of those
quiet moments of separation
an effort to find my own way…
not away from you…
but to find a path that would lead me
to the womanhood
that you seemed to hold so…

easily.

~*~

In the nearness of the end,
I find myself unlimited in dreams
of unexpected simplicity,

and I wallow in them for their beauty.

For now I am held in invisible sun’s rays,
even as it warms hearts and
quickens the sight of those who may see.

I was spring, soft, budding, tender,
where love started to flourish.

I became summer in a breeze,
rushing over seas onto the shore,
then far beyond the horizon’s edge…
I was a summer breeze lifting hope…

Fall fell, so did I, transforming leaves
of a summer’s stately tree, readying
to slip its dress to the ground,
releasing these golden red leaves
leafing me naked…

Coldness set in, too soon time
to dress love in pure white…
such fragile skin under a sun
which continues to shine, even as birds
keep their song alive, of love…

promises of birth will keep budding
as well in nature as in
my kind, and the sun climbs above,
watching over the many seasons

of a past world.

~*~

All I remember, now…is that I never
shared these words with you, before
you went out in a gloried flame.

Feel the touch.

Sissie

The color is too ripe to be the end of something, yet it is.  Such a beautiful photo and poem...deeply felt!

Up to the word "easily"
I felt this poem, commonly good...

But then it became much more, the phrases and statements began to arouse, and stir emotions, like anything beautiful that is formed geometrical, or fluidly sensual.
Only a few poets can take me to that place,
Rilke, Neruda etc., and perhaps the visual poetry of what I see in nature.

Thank you for the chills....

How tenderly you pen these words~
Absolutely beautiful Karilea.

Now - while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again...and again...

What a fine looking oak tree and great compostion with that fork and green leaf.
Your reach to those who have gone before you continues to stretch you...and us.  Beautifully written.  Ken

"I did not then know
how it would come back to me"

you have a way...capturing deep things,
simply...and always through beautiful eyes.

Hugs,
Robert
