Empathy

What's crucial
to a relationship?
Some would say love.
Some would say lust.
Some would say that you
need the ability to trust.
As for me, I would say
that you can't have an
honest relationship
without empathy.

I certainly do agree but sometimes empathy is so intense that it's as if one's own being is torn apart by another's suffering. Empathetic people share both though - the good and the bad - sometimes to the point of not knowing whether it's a personal emotion or belonging to someone else. Only for the strong, I guess, but it sure would be a better world if we all were more aware of the other person's feelings. Sorry - soapbox again.

yea, if it wasnt for empathy i couldnt of tolerated all the pain. on both sides
people need to stop and think about how another person may feel or try to understand how they do feel. but unfortunetly most just care about what they want, and dont care how anyone else feels, they hurt them, then blame them, shame they cant find forgiveness in their own hearts and know how much they hurt, and why they should not continue the cycle.
