A sorry Sunday crept in with the snow,
old opportunist to white-coat disguise.
The soft-severed sun, duped by winter's dull pills
sleeps long weekends with a boy in his eyes.

And while blizzards rage under nervous oak doors
the ancient carer lies still and warm,
peers at the candles which mother his pillows
and rests with a half-open eye to the storm

A sorry son is on his way home,
threatening tracks with the pace of small steps.
The return will not be in vain this time
for a father, though dying, never forgets

PTWils~

Oh my ...

'The soft-severed sun, duped by winter's dull pills
sleeps long weekends with a boy in his eyes.'

How very much I enjoyed the imagery within this penning~
