Through The Looking Glass

I've walked meadow grass stained with cerulean spines,
and lain upon pastures of blossom kissed delight...
therefore let settle raven twilight.
In my eyes utopia's greenery will nevermore wither.
Crystalline shards of love must ever glimmer,
in this conservatory of scarlet rose.

Forget the moribund,
the psyche is deathless,
a bottle of,

“intoxicating drink,”

which spills eternally.
My horizons have been planted midst Japanese Maples,
bedecked in the pigments of forenoon beatitude.
Such ageless gracefulness assuages the drawn-out specters of day's delirium.

Clothed in sensuous kisses—
the peal of bells' choirs in the depths of my soul.
Let the hush of lonesomeness be no more,
because the heart chortles' the silk of falling rains.
Give ear when I enter your thoughts,
for to cross this rivulet of want—
voracious hunger must darken the mirror you would press to lips.

Only then,
I,
like Alice,
might step through the looking glass.

Thank-you Midnitesun. Been so busy camping this summer really have not had a chance to concentrate on writing. It took a month to pull this one together. Good thing camping season will be over in another month and then I can resume my writings.

EV2,

Glad to be here and be able to read your poetry once again.   I am astonished at how your poetry has grown in the last two years that I began posting.  I thought it was very good then; now it's sensational!  I hope you enter some in poetry contests, if you already haven't.

And thank you, Midnitesun, for reminding me to check the box to place this thread gently into my library.  I always forget that box!

   Great read, EV!

Miscellanea thank-you for the kind words. I haven't really had time to write a lot this summer...but fall is coming fast so my days of jet skiing and camping are almost over. I'll be back in full force in the not too distant future.

Earth Angel what do you have in that glass there? LOL! Thank-you dear friend for the kind words. My poetry isn't really all that great...but if it puts a smile on a face or two...well then it was worth it. Now pass the bottle because I am ready to party!

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

WOW!

In your light I learn how to love
In your beauty how to make poems
You dance inside my chest where
no one sees you and that sight becomes this art

Thanks to froggy for bringing this one back into the light! Gosh, I got goosebumps again from reading this romantic and eloquent spill from your quill.

P.S. I need to have a dictionary at my side when I read your poetry! ~ and I like that! It stretches my vocabulary! Reading
