On Reading Li Po At Home, While Enduring
Another Bout Of Antibiotic-Induced Diarrhea

No blue lotus gazes upward here, the plys of it rolled out
In reflected genuflecting sweetness over a moonlit pool

Buddha, crouching, would still smile at momentary distress,
Contemplating endless depths in implied mindless clarity

The clarity imparted by a hair’s-breadth arrival over the path
From Mer-vi’ns to the cascades on Ban-d’i-n’i Mountain

Here, where emptiness brings no joy in surcease
And in an instant the splendor of ancient embroidered robes

Even robes such as these, give way before the inevitable
Sudden poignancy of the spilling of a lapful of blossoms

Gazing at inner clouds, I know the river’s thoughts within,
Seeking ever to reach quiescence in the earth-cradling seas

All the time
I’m praying to Buddha
I’m killing mosquitoes

love this!
oh, am soo sorry about the aftermath of those anti-biotics
which though life-savers, can also be
the pits!

I've searched through every one of my brain cells... though granted, there aren't many. *S* And I simply can't recall... or even imagine... a more exquisite poem accompanied by such a title and inspired by such circumstances. LOL

This... is beauty everlasting... I hope your antibiotics don't give you grief this time... May any discomfort be exceedingly brief. *S*

HOW, How did I miss this?  Oh, only you could write this, Ed, so masterfully, full of grace and hidden wit!  So glad I found it.  This time, I'll ear mark it!

Hope the antibiotics did the trick.
