Slipping through the thin pale veil
that sits serenely, silently
between dark and light, day and night,
an invisible moment where time stands still
and you just might believe
good shall prevail over evil

tick tick tick
I hear it

but cannot stop time's veil from shifting beyond
that gossamer thread that is

~LIFE~

more fragile than any spider’s silk

My dreams did leak,
from the seemingly empty bucket I carried around,
the one from which so many souls slipped away
onto barren soils, never to sprout love’s bounties.

Then it occurred to me that when I thought
the veil was stretched too taut,
you suddenly appeared,
proving that LIFE itself
was strong enough to see its way through
the thinnest, palest veil.

It's from a moment spent remembering how I felt the year before I was blessed with the birth of my beautiful daughter, Sara.

Lauren, thank you for reading, and feeling...

Kacy,
Excellent. But I thought this was about your wedding night! Tell me again about the camel and the harem, please.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Jo, thanks for taking time to read and comment, I always appreciate your replies.
Paul, it's true, and thanks for making that observation.
Larry, well, it wasn't exactly the dance of seven veils...not even three veils, LOL.
Now about that time when i was sold for 12 camels, and the I-was-almost-in-a-harem episode... or were you wanting to know about the camel that spit at me? LOL
