~* My Summer Daze *~

I'm way too busy to write a poem,
On most summer days I'm rarely home!
I simply can't keep up with all of you,
No matter what I try to do.

I've decided to simply hunt and peck,
Read here and there, and what the heck,
If I sit and worry about all of this,
I'll be sick about what poems I miss.

Summer brings just too much fun
I roll over outside until I’m done.
Being out of doors is just great by me,
Especially when I live down by the sea.

I leave mid-morning each day with a plan
To take in all the nature that I possibly can.
I return home at night when it is cool,
Contented, and fulfilled as a rule.

I walk about 3 miles each and every day,
Up and down inclines, as our dear Nan would say.
I try getting in shape over the summer a bit,
Preparing for fall ~ for that’s when I “sit.”

I’ll be back in the fall running at full steam
Empting out the muse’s poetic stream.
Writing of adventures enjoyed in the sun,
But I have to grab 2 months of summer fun.

Soon enough the rain comes, and I’ll be inside,
Then at this site is where I tend to hide.
Rekindling friendships made, making some new,
So thanks to each and every one of you.

Know this my friends I really do care,
But it’s late at night I have time to stare.
Reading what you wrote until eyelids close,
So, I'm doing the very best I can ~ I suppose.

So Get Out There And Happy Summer!

Note: These pictures are taken walking to "my spot" where I bake, and then back again at night.  It is a really pretty spot in West Vancouver, Canada.

I wish that I was there with you,
To bake and baste the summer through,
Just turn and toast there in the sun,
Relaxing till the day is done.

Alas, I sit behind this screen,
Such paperwork, I've never seen,
I turn and toast right here at work,
Until I fear I'll go beserk!

Naahh, it's not "that" bad, but I'd sure rather be where you are!

Gorgeous pictures Sharon! Thanks for reminding us there is a world outside these office walls.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

I have been going to that stretch beach for a long, long time, and never get tired of it.  The scene is different every single day and you feel just so small in the scheme of things in this world.  I was late going today, and figured I better make a feeble excuse why I am not posting, and isn't this a good one?

Kit ~ how the heck do you whip those up so dang fast!  I actually did try to make this "da dum" some anyway

Vancouver is hosting the Winter Olympics in 2010, and it is going to be CRAZY here!

I have had the pleasure of walking this very stretch of beach with a few of the poets from Passions like Nan, Kit, Kacy and Sarah, and they all thought I had a nice sunset too.        Anyone who comes is welcome to walk with me anytime!

Thank you for understanding, now off I go!

my ohhhhh my, how beautiful, and how very lucky you are, and we are, that you have shared this beautiful sight through your words and eyes...

I miss walking every day, I really do...it was a great time to touch nature, or, allowing nature to touch us and so much we can learn throught the experience

mmmm,mmmm...absolute heaven you have...

I am leaving now and taking the camera with me again   Have a wonderful day everyone!  Lee, I have done a lot of travelling, but I have to tell you - there is not another place except San Diego that can come close to the wonder of this town.  I am always so grateful to live here, and recommend it to everyone to visit at least once.  We have it all - honest!

OK lets see now?
sit on the stupid computer or go to the ocean???

hmmmm hmmmmm

wow its a tough one...

sheesh.... stop apologizing for not being here replying to poems for crying outloud...
If I had ocean close...I'd have webbed toes by now

and you know I love that first picture.

I'll bare the brunt of your long buried pain
I don't mind helping you out
But I want you to remember my name

Beautiful pictures Sharon...
and I know what you mean about not being here as much in the summer.
It's just too wonderful outside exploring nature.
Hugs for this lovely.

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

Sharon these pictures are just stunning how beautiful a place to go and find peace....Have a wonderful summer....

In your light I learn how to love
In your beauty how to make poems
You dance inside my chest where
no one sees you and that sight becomes this art

I loved this sharing that you did...and you know what?  It is a poem!!
