Have You Ever ... ?
~*Marge Tindal*~

Have you ever watched a sunset cry,
dripping tears across a twilight sky ?
Caught in prisms of lavender light,
just before she says goodnight.

A mist, so light, that drifts into
the night to fall as morning dew.
To softly dance across the lawn,
toweled again upon the dawn.

Oh, I have seen a sunset cry,
laying her sorrow across a night sky.
Felt the dew so heavy-laden,
awaiting return of morning maiden.

Where upon a tear-kissed flower,
sunbeams danced within dew-shower.
Warmed the gentle lily's bed,
lifting hearts to smile instead.

Next time you watch a sunset,
squint with all your might,
that you may catch her teardrops,
before the morn takes light.

~Because ... sometimes the sunset cries my tears
and I eagerly await the new dawning~

~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost,
the spirit rejoices over what it has left.

Marge,

What a gifting you have given!  Your words speak the color of the sunset.  Elegant, Marge!

Have you ever watched a sunset cry,
dripping tears across a twilight sky ?
Caught in prisms of lavender light,
just before she says goodnight."

I think I have seen those dripping tears of sunset's cry.  You can bet I'll be watching the horizon from now on.  Maybe with a tissue in hand!  That stanza alone lends itself to much reflection!

Shed softly the tears of the ending day… this is a beautiful write!  You captured the magic at sunset so very well.

Ohhhh, may I add…  The picture that you posted with this poem, it reminded me of when I was little and we played the game, “What do the clouds look like?”  Maybe it was because I read your words, seeing the sunset as a “she” and the “morning maiden” in my mind, but when I scrolled back up and glanced at the clouds, the lower cloud that encompasses the bottom of the picture – it struck me that it resembles a lady stretched out.  The two arms out in front are to the right of the picture, then going from right to left – her head and body.  Most likely people will say, “I don’t see that..”  But I could not resist adding this in as if it touches on the magic of your poem!

Enchanting write!
