Their time has come
(again)
and they tell the world
to piss off
as they conquer the fences,
they're movers and shakers
and hide from the undertaker
and overextend their stay
on the lawns that invent them,
they laugh down the aisles
and make no apology
when they crack thru the concrete
and smear color on pristine conventions,
thy're colored girls that jump double dutch
on ivory playgrounds
and old dirty sluts that get off
seducing old poets
wearing tattered black dresses,
and everything your mother told you
not even to think of,
they breathe me in yellow
when i itch to detox
of this white world's pretentions
they run with my mind,
doing overtime
on imagination's journey,
on this wonderful day of dementia.

Ha! Will never see dandelions the same again...impertinent cusses aren't they!!

Which reminds me, gotta do the Dandelion Stomp this weekend meself.
