Self-examination

Theory
Paces back and forth, hour upon hour
Different forums of sky
I sit on the beach, knees wrapped in my arms
Rocking…
Tracing implications, assumptions
Trying to leave go, the echoes that
Were once pressed between the pages of
A book entitled “An Earnest Desire for Human Contact”
Writing perhaps a peculiar diary, but
A journal, coal faced with sharing…mine
Hoping time keeps the caring relentless
Under discrimination, my own &
Man’s expectations…
Wanting nothing more, then to embrace
Peace between the mouths of clutter
Even when running through my fingers
Hearing the voice of Rumi
Watching a snail slither toward the water
Stopping from time to time
Stretching back its leathered neck
Supplied from collective moments
Where the heart is enlightened by camaraderie
But the soul’s desire for seclusion
Where love mischievously wraps around
The toes of both places, and me…
Changing into blood soaked soul glances
Given where each and every one
Finds pictures of intimates…a
Pulse of courage and hope
Washing over interlocked soybeans…quiet
Many thanks

so often when reading your poetry, you expand my thoughts and I love the way you express yourself and make things subtle and bold at the same time....

this is awesome...

LeeJ

I haven't seen you lately...I hope you're ok.

Loved this poem as all of yours, especially this ending

"Changing into blood soaked soul glances
Given where each and every one
Finds pictures of intimates…a
Pulse of courage and hope
Washing over interlocked soybeans…quiet"

thank you for your ways...
