breathless banjos
who wore the gloves
when strumming
under a half can of moon
and unholy velvet

the metal songs ooze
down asphalt rivers
no cliffs to dive from
but the drinking man tries
in wingless flight

forgiven plays backwards
so the ending hurts more
than the beginning
but is soon forgotten
when the moths eat holes

in the happily ever after

can feel the shadow in this - the dark of passing - thanks for the view D - the look of your perspective -

I can feel the shadow in this too: I like the imagery in this, and the word crafting!
