A Day Full of Promise

~ Linda L. Dowd ~

Have you ever awakened to a morning that
felt full of promise?
~ One that filled you with a sense
of anticipation for what the day might bring?

For me, yesterday had been such a day.

I had been bathed in moonlight
as I slept the night before, and
I awoke to the sun streaming through
the open shutters.

After a pleasant night of the sweetest
of dreams, I stretched my arms up high
above me ~ ready to greet the day!

A cool, gentle breeze wafted through
my open window carrying with it
the fresh scents of spring.
I was rested, hopeful, and filled
with a zest for living.

On rising from my cozy bed,
good things immediately began to happen.
It all started with the first phone
call that I had received.

As the day progressed I received
an increasing number of blessings of
prayers answered, opportunities given,
and of heartening good news! I was overjoyed
with the abundance that was pouring in!

Have you ever awakened to a morning
that felt full of promise? ~ One that
filled you with a sense of anticipation
for what the day might bring?

For me, yesterday had been such a day
~ and it delivered as promised. For what
ensued, truly had been a day full of miracles.

From this day onward, if ever I come upon
difficult times, I will recall
that blessed day! God really does listen
and there are always brighter days ahead.

Yes, it is great to be alive!
~ and I am forever thankful
for His blessings.

How beautiful Linda..
and yes, I have awakened to that kind of day..
a day of unexpected blessings.

But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul

What an uplifting poem.  It makes me feel good to have read it, and to think you were so blessed.

Mr. T. ~

I'm happy that my poem lifted you up to heaven ~ but I wouldn't want you to stay there yet! We need you down here for many years yet to come!

I aspire to inspire and I'm pleased to have lifted you up! ~ However, it appears that I lifted you up further than I had intended! :ahgel:
