This poem is placed into public domain.
Author credit is my only request in the unlikely event any reader finds this item useful enough to transplant elsewhere.

Better effect is gotten for group sharing  by changing "I" to "We".

The poem was created last December to kick-start a photo thread at another forum.
We have eight thousand reads of the picture thread since then.

Have seen some otherwise shy, hiding people take heart from group encouragements to install their pictures for public view.

It is all about making folks feel secure.
Looks don't matter.
Faces don't matter except that as humans,
we have an inborn curiosity and need to put a face to a voice.
----------

Face Off

Are you heavy?  Are you thin?
Don't you like the face you're in?
Largese flesh sigs' heaven heart;
Inspired Reuben's ample art

Today that fash' has grown to thin...
But don't you like the face you're in?
Don't hide behind cold screen of dark
Comforter warmth spreads from this heart

I love I love the face you're in
Old or Young or Graced or Thin
I don't I don't care less one bit
Your face is mine
I'm loving it

Hi Netsky....welcome to Pip!  I noticed that you haven't added a photo to your profile.  With a poem like this one, seems like you should have a photo.  It's easy to do.  I look forward to more of your poetry.

Reid, you'll be able to add your photo to your profile soon enough...after 50 posts, I believe...

in the meantime, I like this. A face we "face" daily in the mirror...trying to be objective with ourselves, so many finding subjective reasons to hide behind ways to better us....

me?

The most I do is color my hair...simply because .... I like it.

LOL...

Welcome to Passions!

thank you... fifty posts is around the corner.

(i'll need help from someone to zoom and crop my face from the doggie picture.. then it can be my avatar.  Either -that- or this one that really is -me-

ha ha

i do like that one.

Here is myself at fifty- it's a lucky shot, I assure you.  I don't color hair or do botox.. All I am at age fifty I owe to rotting from the -inside- only.

Netsky...an admin can help, if you wish.  And I've been known to help a lot of folks.

So don't be a stranger.

Fifty posts to include a photo in a profile... but one who might be adept at html could figure a way to include such within a thread...

Hi Nan.

I am no adept.  I do "imageshack"

imageshack.us is free, no registration, is so simple to use.

I'll try to install a self opener?  Is that possible?

Step right in?  Am I welcome and safe here?  WHY

thank you!

So, I have a terrible habit: "T'erses", as I dub them.
-four lines
abab rhyme
-final line is an italicized result or summary-

=====

Nancy greets netsky right in time
wishing him a longer life.
net' accepts in the nick of rhyme
there's no hidden Passions knife

===

thank you all for the love
====in progress:

Sunshine harkens up a warmth
not plains, but rich brilliance
Gold and Yellow, Young and Mellow
my lasting rememberance

A man, a plan, then here comes Nan
grants easement for waterway.
Gracious She, she gives free land

AHA! So you ARE the Reid I found when following your name upon the net.  Methinks you might belie your years, yet you do not.  So much so...that it is pleasant. Again, welcome to Passions...

Now, enjoy!

Netsky met NanciNess on the way
And PiPsters all gathered around
Telling him – Reid, not in Q&A
For Open is far more renowned!

I've found that we also have the need to put a voice to a face.

I enjoyed this thread. Welcome to Passions.
