Saluting with misty eyes

0 posted 2005-03-27 08:31 PM

I walked up to the Crossroads
Expecting nothing
Bathed in the hope
Deals to be made
Souls
Ever offered
Bought, purchased
Sold on the open market
Highest bidder victory
Another win
More lost
As they search for the other world
Nothing to gain
Losing not optioned
Gaining the life
Leaving the warmth
The summer sun
Light to the willing eye
Looking around
Sighing
I turn to leave again
With no offer
Living forever
Alone

In the wooden chair
Beside my window
I wear a face born in the falling rain

It seems futile
but as Dixie said,
keep walking...

we all have different
crossroads to explore.
