in the shadows

I watched a laughing Running Moon
playing in a lonely sky,
a cluttered rumpled sheet of clouds
veneered in fiddleback designs,
dancing in and out
playing catch me if you can,
a teasing child dressed in party clothes
now becoming jumbled
with ragged knee from rough and tumble,
cake smears down the front;
does she play for you as well
I wondered,
as my mind wandered south
a ways along your empty early beach
through the tropic breezes sway,
and is your heart as full of thoughts
and memories as mine today,
or are you sleeping?

This is wonderful...
I so very much enjoyed the read Sir.

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul

I woke at about 4 and watched the moon play shadow on the patio walls...wrote a poem in my head, and then went back to bed.  Lovely poem, my friend!

I could picture the play of thoughts as carefree children romping in the sky.
Superb write, and wonderful expression.

This is gorgeous.  I especially like the fiddleback design, and the rough and tumble.

we see the same skies but most times see them differently...

*sigh*

*kiss* but their thoughts run to us as much as ours runs to them I think...I hope.
