Atop the gnarled and withered vine,
rising into the rays, dancing unseen
winds, you stand defiant against
the morning’s kiss of dew.

You enchantingly tug against the
ply of my fingers, daring me to
let a single petal fall...why?

You knew the breath of me that
raced.  You saw the pulse that ran
in torrid flow against still deep waters,
reflecting the glint of a single ray as
a smile emerged...taunting
me, calling my name beyond the
shifting sun seared dunes of a
memory.

You once filled my well, softly wet the
pout of my lips, traced our fingers
over cool skins...brought rain drops
to a summer’s morn...

Again I heard the lustful pound, the
sigh of sinful aching, the cries of
scattered dreams and moans of
waking morns...and as the withered
vine sagged...I hungered.
Are you there?
