Learn To Forget By: Noah Eaton 4/21/04 Turn your head, from the martyrs and patriots, dear child, patriotism is a scoundrel's game, I fight for no one, we're citizens of the world, and we're born to be wild. Cover your ears, from all these trivial reasons being sung of, the willingness to kill and be killed, from a fabricated real estate love... I wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then, fill your heart with the smell of nurseries, and rest your light head, children have no past, children have no future, all that matters is the present, my friend, break from this heart of clay, and learn to forget... Won't it a beautiful day, when our government needs a yard sale, to buy a war plane, and we're all reluctant, to seal up our childhood dreams, like stacked Brillo boxes? BREATHE A SKY, free of surveillance and Thaliomide, where children are born without limbs, without hands that can reach for the sky... I wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then, fill your heart with the smell of nurseries, and rest your light head, children have no past, children have no future, all that matters is the present, my friend, break from this heart of clay, and learn to forget... . . . . . . . . Come one, come all, now we've gone too far, only love is the way, children, build your filiarchy to the stars, come one, come all, don't let their words discourage you, look above and beyond the flag pole, the world is your playground, return to your roots... I wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then, fill your heart with the smell of nurseries, and rest your light head, children have no past, children have no future, all that matters is the present, my friend, break from this heart of clay, and learn to forget... The world will never be quiet, till the patriot sings his last song, so learn to forget... The world will never be quiet, till the patriot sings his last song, so learn to forget... "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" Mother Teresa |

A wonderful mixed media presentation A child-like wish But wouldn’t we all be better if it could come true. Enjoyed the read. Gloom |

Noah love, this is so heart touching. Love your words and the pictures. I fight for no one, we're citizens of the world, and we're born to be wild. How true, how true. If only your words could become truth. huggles and luvs, Marti A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows. |

You're a wordsmith after my own heart, Noah. This reminds me of a line from an Ani Difranco song-- "You have to believe that mercy has its own country, and that it's round and borderless..." Peace to you, my friend. ~*Krista Lee Knutson*~ |
