Scorch E'en My Shadow With The Press Of Lips

Liquid need cascades from lips in a kiss,
Quenching not the flame where burns desire,
For ‘tis not an oceanic abyss—
—But rather the tinder of love’s fire.

Breathlessly I’d receive the blaze of you,
I’d have blistered this want within my veins,
If love’s conflagration is to flame true,
Need; will surge aloft even when it rains.

O’ gather me to your bosom dearest,
Scorch e'en my shadow with the press of lips,
For thou art my daystar hung in the west,
And this love that I feel naught will eclipse.

The sun’s but a pale star where love doth burn,
And ‘tis for thy fervor that my heart yearns.

Very lovely indeed. Enjoyed. Chris
