I am confused. I'm incomplete.
I wonder who the hell is "me"?
I hear voices from the past.
I see silver in my hair.
I want the truth and the last laugh.

I'm confused.

I'm incomplete.

I pretend that it's all good.
I even feel it's as it should
be--I touch the silver strands
and worry that it ages me.
Sometimes I cry myself to sleep.

I am confused.

I'm incomplete.

I understand the mystic sage.
I say "peace" as I act rage.
I dream myself all shiny new.
I try to make that dream come true.

I hope I'm not ridiculous.

I'm so confused.

I'm incomplete.

Karen- This is absolutely amazing, as always. Changing the style of this while still following the challenge shows just how great you are.

Thanks all, for taking the time to read and reply. This is one of my favorite challenges, and it is a challenge, too, to periodically re-evaluate how I define myself.

"I want the truth and the last laugh"?

*smile*

Shucks, there ain't no sinister motive to that. That's just me laughing at myself again, as I recognize that perceptions of reality as truth are so often convenient to my mood.

Just my way of slapping myself around a bit.

A bit of self-mockery, if you will.

Thanks again and thanks Ringo.

You are Karen, You are serenity
I wonder what that is
You hear voices from the past.
I see echoes from your lair.
You want the truth and I, the last laugh.

I'm perhaps.

You are serenity.

I pretend that your pretence is good.
I even feel that’s what is right
I hear the sounds
and expect that it births me.
Sometimes I cajole me to sleep.

You are Karen.

You are serenity.

You understand the mystic rage.
I say "peace" as I write a page.
I dream myself to write as good as you.
I dream to make that true.

I hope I'm not frivolous.

I'm maybe.

You are yourself replete.
...

is it ok if I ask you ...?
to write a duet? I mean
(I am blocked in my head and can't string few words to save my life) please don't mind my being me

sudhir

my god, this is one of the most honest writes anyone could imagine posting
and I am so in tune, but beyond you with the number of grey hairs
and yet? I think I look OK for a woman almost 60, and still can turn a head
and YOU????
are gorgeous

Serenity,

I admire you and those other brave souls who have taken Ringo's challenge.  When I looked at it, I wondered how it could be written in such a way that it would flow as smooth as silk, yet reflect the inner core.  I am amazed how you have so expertly accomplished this.  (I wish I had time to respond to all who took this challenge!  It has been eye-opening to see how we perceive ourselves!  I see such similarities in others' perceptions and my own, especially yours.)  Take care,

Just reminded me that one time I told a girlfriend, that I wanted the truth.
Did she in fact have two boyfriends,
she said only one, and I said, well
if you have two you have to get rid
of one, will that be me or him.
