3 Day Darkness

Executioners stand swollen with steel
Atrocities dancing pleasure
Cold darkness, howling fear at humans
Unstable cries of affliction
Burning like withered trees
Painting the offenses I have given to feet
Death will be by permission
Feast Day of a young martyr of the Eucharist
Leaving a neon sign
Intersecting Divine fire
Pull gates & curtains closed tight
Do not hear the cries of loved ones
Godliness will suffocate
Horror will dismember minds
Beyond the realm of supernatural powers
Infusions of ghosts, fleshy tissue earns nothing
A new nature shall talk to the living

sometimes
there are dark drapes
on the window

the light is still there
just can't get be seen

from our side of the glass

Talking to the living
Takes more than just word giving,
Ghost and host of the dead
Swinging steel and flowing red
Machineguns are not the dread
While movie fans laugh at death
Instead of with a shallow fearful breath.
The darkness has not been days but years
Since the spiritual numbness soothes the fears.

What a lovely upbeat poem ~ not! ~ and I LOVED it!!! Gosh, this was brilliant with a capital B! I'm going back for my third read-through!
