Annual X-mas tribute to the old neighbourhood to the tune of Winter Wonderland of course..
____________________________________________________

Gunshots ring,
are you listening?
Purp subdued,
Cops are kicking..
A horrible sight
every night
Walking in a ghetto wonderland

Run away, from the sirens
screeching tires, break the silence
pushers and theives
scatter like leaves
when cops come in my ghetto wonderland

In the alley druggies buy a kilo
give themselves a name like Mr. Brown
He'll say are you packing?
He'll say No man!
But just in case the pusher pats him down

Later on
we'll admire
three of four raging fires
I face without fear
these streets as they leer
a white man in a ghetto wonderland

In the alley there's an aging hooker
wears more makeup then a circus clown
every night the cops come down to book her
she doesn't seem to mind going downtown

When it snows
it is thrilling
all the purps inside chillin
I can go out an play
in my honkey white way
Living in my ghetto wonderland

Living in my ghetto wonderland
Living in my ghetto wonderland

I can understand the feelings.

It can be handled but not by someone miles away mouthing into a microphone for his self-ego.

Raffaele ... reality pulses in your words... and I am sure in midst of violence and degradation there are hearts dreaming of love and better days.

Bravo.

This will always be a fave of mine, never tire of singing along to it as i read.

Later on
we'll admire
three of four raging fires

that bit always makes me smile. or grimace. or smirk. I'm unsure which. all three.

I'm home for xmas dude! A whole month! be speaking to you soon, i hope. I thought of you the other day when my housemate bought a poster of a certain photograph thingy you once showed me. I'll stop now.

Loved it last year and I still love it now!

Though I'm not sure whether I should rofl or sob.
I'll go for the laughing... it's easier on tissue supply.

I'll be singing this all day!
Merry Christmas... survive it at least. And I hope next year is better, too.
