Lost Filigree

Each morning when I awake
I do a doubtful double take
As acid time dubs my stay
Dissolving bit by bit away

Of now I feel an amputee
It does not reach a part of me
The awe that dances me each dawn
A part of me I feel is gone

Anesthetized by wines of why
Drunk of sipping common lie
I lay in stupor on my back
Grieving for the part I lack

Yet never will I drink enough
Of this vile and raging stuff
That drags me through the depths of hell
The rotting and the sulfur smell

As acid time sifts my stay
Dissolving bit by bit away

I know this feeling...
and know how the acid works...
and that is when I go in search
of a base to negate the burn...

and search for my sighs in Sy...

Oh, my! I cannot help but wonder what part was amputated! Perhaps it is still there but you just can't feel it!

From the sight of your poetry, dear Sir, the
missing part isn't obvious at all. You are
such an excellent poet, Seymour!! Thank you
for sharing.

Filigree is some of the most beautiful crafstmanship in silver there is - stunning stuff - we all lose bits of ourselve - but we can pattern our loss into our beauty - and you, dear Sy, wear your beauty -

Sun of dawn's rise...sun in dusking set ...
may the days come and go without regret.
Of many things we know not the how or why,
still I find my innocence & awe in Sy's sky.
