what is over that mountain
there where the sun waits
to rise to her lover

I shall ride the morning
and introduce my mind
to her amber

perhaps she is velvet
with a bladeless scythe
and smile less teeth

or some statue heaven
with stone behind
and a godless god

working the miracles
of keeping time
frozen on the empty hands

of a tattoo'd clock
