Dear Gravity,
We need to talk about “things”...
You know...the ones that have fallen.
The blue pill won’t lift a Mack truck, let alone...
And....I used to High Jump, now you would
think we are playing that stupid lower the bar
game.

My chest.....gone way south, kinda like the
geese have....and the bags under my eyes,
well...they are trying to touch my toes...

Speaking of toes...I can no longer see
them....and socks suck!

Stairs are longer, higher...harder.
And hills are now mountains...

Coffee spills easy, onto the floor
and runs for the lowest part of my
lap, if by chance I make a booboo.
It was freakin’ hot too...

The apple fell out of the tree a long
time ago, and now I don’t dare
climb after one, cause the ladder is
only rated for so many pounds.

My wife had to buy a larger bra, with
more clasps....something about being
stretched beyond normal limits....and
perky is now a thing of the past.

And....seems you always let me down
and seldom up....cause up takes all
my effort...and down is happening more
and more these days...

And lastly....how about you and I trade
places for a little while....then perhaps
I will get to see how many years it
takes before suspenders become part
of YOUR wardrobe....Need a pair?

Tell your buddy Newton I said “Hey”...
And good to know ya both.
I hope your par fours are all
nice and long....and your golf balls
fall back to earth quickly too...

PS....Bungie Jumping is a really
big thing now...

Well Barry, Thanks for giving gravity a piece of your mind, I've been telling him off for a while now, and he's just not listening to me anymore!

lol good to read some humor...
I heard it makes people old when I tell them I'm just now turning 17? Is that true?

Dear Barry:

I couldn't help but notice the sarcasm in your spit fire poem.
If you have issues with your socks, I feel it only fair to note,
I keep feet firmly on the ground...not an easy task in most cases...and I do help with the sunrise, the tides and the occassional baseball pitch...but there are some things that even I cannot control.

That having been said...a fine write!

Hugs,
Gravity

Love your sense of humour! ~ Mind you, when I think about it, gravity is no laughing matter! It is a grave matter! lol

Seriously, I know you speak with tongue in cheek because you are still a studly guy!
~ even though your tongue may now have some difficulty in finding your cheek!

At least you're not vain! Yer a reeeel man! Dork

Love the humor in this, Magnus, and it's a departure for you, poetry-wise.

Hmmm...seems to me that your humor and wit
aren't affected by gravity as this bounces back to the top!

Well, since my mornings are usually spent in the grumpy and sleepy mode, at least this brings a smile to my face as I head off to work this morning. Thanks for the grin.
