The Viking and the Gypsy – the Sacrifice

There waiting, holding down a hand
Was the Viking with halo white
Ready and willing to rescue maid
And slay the dragon in mighty fight

She stopped and turned round to find
In race the fierce dragon came
Nostrils flared in smoke tinged rush
Mouth consumed with heated flame

What then, she thought in quickened flash
If the Viking and the dragon should meet
And the dragon’s savage will prevail
The Viking falling to death in defeat

Then the dragon- this maid he would surely devour
And carry on to pillage the village place
Spreading his malice and pending doom
No, this dragon-- this dragon she must face

She turned then and the dragon drew still
“What is this, gypsy maid most fair,
Why do you pause and wait for my dread
When salvation’s hand answers your prayer?”

The maid hung head and fell to knees
“To save myself others must be put at risk
How with self would I then live?
No, would rather surrender to death’s mean kiss”

“Or if you will, to be your slave,
To serve and answer all calls you make
But to me a promise you must tender
Is this an offer of which you will partake?”

The dragon groaned and eyed the girl
A most enticing beauty her form did reveal
“Ah, this promise you would have me give-
Ask it, perhaps we shall make a deal.”

“Let live the Viking and his kind,
Seal us off within your caverns deep
Then I will service you as you please
Will this promise you make and keep?”

He breathed an acrid smoke filled plume
Rolling eyes and picking teeth
Then nodding yes, he captured his prize
And turned to descend to the lair beneath

The Gypsy, she had made her stand
And there was no blood upon her hand
She gave herself in love bound gift
To save her kin and the Viking Man

indeed in life we must make a number of difficult choices and sacrifices...i hope the gypsy made the right choice...did she?

Smiling with you...I know the joy and effort it takes to put together a poetic story line, so I have a feeling there will be a part four...

right?

Sure hope so!

ok..so the dragon gets the hotty right?
yay...I was cheering for the dragon
since the story began..
..so slave stuff now..naughty outfits and
a little whip and high heels?

oh...wow, now that I think about it the dragon will be sorry..she will want to bring all her gypsy inlaws over..she will want to redo the cave...hang flowery stuff everywhere..knock out some walls and get more light in...have him do more public speaking engagements so he can manage his anger,,...poor guy!!  run draggy run

me thinks the gypsy is playing a hooters queen, when all the time, there's a real trick up her sleeve...(wink) yes?

Stunning as always...can't wait for the next!

Betcha the dragon falls in love with her, and changes, becomes a real smooth kitten giving out fiddles at the local Village Salvation Army?

Mannn,  I must say I think DS is right,  the
dragon has some less than pleasant times
ahead.  Anyone want to trade places with him?

Errrrr, perhaps....
