I listened to the tremble of leaf hoping to find in it the same movement of air that escaped your lips as in sigh your eyes closed Perhaps to picture someone from before with the kindness inside forbidding I should see the look was not for me, knowing the flutter of your breath was destined to greater uprisings set ablaze with reddened cheeks those memories burn, stealing the very air we breathe suffocating in autumnal embrace and I’m dying to touch your face to my chest and fill your lungs again but the heat dissipates under fingertips pulling the winter in leaving you naked in its bitter wake scars exposed again there is vulnerable in the shadows of you that would outline a black and white frame in edges softer than stark yet still distinctly show the curves my eyes follow from throat to shoulder Tell me nothing of then we'll hide deeper in the pretend and press ourselves against the soft failings of flesh to kiss these monochrome movements denying pink exist to color your lips or that smiles might shade summer again even if I must lie, about how subtle seasons change This image of you remains Cpat Hair and Muted... again, I thank you ma'am for the pleasure of writing with you. |
