I laughed listening
to news
thinking, yeah she gives a damn
about the stats of record sales
and how she is already old
then I thought
perhaps she did
give a damn, I mean
twist her this
and bend her that
and she'll sell much better than
she ever had before
I laughed
thinking that is all she wrote?
no place else to go but down
then I heard a publicist
urge "they like it if you jump
so show them you are serious
and take a role that shows
the depth
of a woman's ugliness
and don't forget to thank the crew
for turning you..
miraculous
into a monster
    (just like us?)

Oh.
Let me be serious.

I laughed listening to tunes
recorded by the slick cartoons
wondering how this can be
the demon spawn of MTV
5.7 seconds spot
gotta give it all you got
or someone with controls
(like me?)
will flip on past publicity
creating my own forms of art
visuals
they're there!
then not!

Let's not be too serious.
I like to watch that woman stomp
christianity across
a stage I thought it apt displayed
that she stopped at a man's crotch
as he stood there blushing christ
it was ludicrous alright

Oh-let-me-be-serious

This is something I could watch
like the yoga blonde at dawn
amusing
she will stifle yawn
with her row of shiny teeth
instructing her vagina
"breathe!"
whistled negativity
through her nostrils flared.
despair

oh she can't be serious.

Help me I'm delirious
imaging dexterity
wond'rin'
who am I to judge?
just a watcher
after all
clicking my own life away
(I don't want to be like this)
much too much
too serious
talking to a screen.

I know that thought..

I hate reality shows...so many are so shallow...yet some of them catch my attention...and I pretend by being negative...

I can picture your postures, gesticulations and expressions as you sit there with the clicker and staring at the boob tube.

Yeppers! I see what you see! ~ and I enjoyed your very nutty silly putty! lol

I had to laugh here, as I can see you in 3D, sitting with that remote, blitzing past all those blitzy schitzy quick shots.

I must need therapy?  I treat it all as entertainment, and take not one thing seriously.  1/2 or one hour a day is good for a laugh.  Oh darn dropped my clicker...there, flick, flick, flick, nope, nope, ok ... a home reno show.

I wanted to say a quick thanks to all--especially to my girl Maree, who inspired this one with a chat session about "writing" and just talkin'...so I thought I'd try to write the way I talk, and this is what came out!

Hope you all enjoyed.

I'm off to read--there's a buffet of poetry on the board today and I'm hungry.

Love you all, and thanks again!

Meg & Kathleen, thanks for reading me. And oh yeah, the title...grin?

I entitled it that because when I was a kid, I preferred modeling clay..."silly putty" was only superior to the "real thing" for taking "imprints" off of the Sunday comics--and it was that thought that led to my little conversation with nobody.

sheesh.

(Oh. And silly putty could bounce too.)

Hugs all. I'm off to read. There's been some terrific poetry on the board this week and you all inspire me more than you could ever know. thank you
