My needs are simple and all to few, I don't ask for much in this life, Love, family and a purpose, To keep me out of strife. I'm lonely now through the day, My son's life has begun, Yet I sit alone for me it's the same, I long for the setting sun. Nothing ever happens, Nothing happens at all. I need a purpose, more identity, Don't want to be lost here alone, Nothing ever happens, No one calls me on the phone. Nothing ever happens, Nothing happens at all. The days all blend into the next, Repitiveness my only friend, Who will stand by me, And be with me at the end? Things are changing for others, Reaching achievements or goals, The same old nothing for me, I no longer feel in control. Nothing ever happens, Nothing happens at all. Means prevent the changes, I long to bring about, And still I'm all alone, Feeling lost, cold and left out. I only want normalcy, I don't ask for unreachable things, I need my purposes and goals, And the satisfaction these things bring. Nothing ever happens, Nothing happens at all....... isis, this poem is incredible...I relate to this one WAY too much...I think at some point we get to a certain age and realize some of our dreams and goals passed us by while caring for our families. But its never to late to find something deep inside our selves that completes us...for me as I turned 40 and on..it has been rediscovering writing...and its been life changing. take care, janet marie ...found your heart-then lost your lover...licked your wounds then run for cover... take your time...there will be another... and dont make the same mistake twice... unless you can pay the price... Glad you can relate Janet Marie. My little one started preschool last week and I'm feeling alone and unwanted (sort of) you know what I mean. My husband has a life, my son is busy, I am just sitting here, the only highlights some days in Passions. I'm not furious, or really upset, just expressing the feelings to the best of my ability. Nothin ever happens..nothin happens at all, hey thats the title to my life...hahaha But, yes I can definately relate to that. Dont you just hate it when you think something is gonna happen, then life all of a sudden lets you down. But this poem, I enjoyed reading it, brought much depth to my perception of 'nothing'.
